Jennifer is a native of Atlanta, Georgia, where she began her singing career in her Baptist church's choir. She began studying classical voice when she attended Washington and Lee University, studying under Catherine Gaylard and various guest master teachers including the late great Robert Shaw. While there, she served as musical director for the university's female a capella group and appeared in many musical and theatrical productions, most notably playing the role of Suzanna in Mozart's "The Marriage of Figaro." She was also a soloist in two internationally touring choral ensembles, performing throughout the United States and Great Britain, Germany, Austria, and the Czech Republic. Her Senior year she was given an award by the Music Department as the senior who had contributed the most to the choral program.
Since moving to Richmond in 1996, she has performed as soloist with the Richmond Chamber Players and the Richmond Symphony, and has been a member of two professional-level choirs - the James River Singers and the Adult Choir at the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart. In 2000, she began cantoring at St. Benedict's Catholic Church until coming to the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart, where she currently serves as cantor and soloist. She has sung in over 100 weddings and memorial services, and is a frequent soloist in religious services and other varied musical performances throughout the Richmond area. Her clear, soothing lyric style has made her one of the most in-demand wedding soloists in Richmond.
Most of all, Jennifer is the proud mother of three children - Connor, Teagan, and Lauren, and the most grateful wife of her husband and best friend, Sean.
